PlayStation Portal is Getting a Cloud Streaming Beta

The PlayStation Portal has been a big success for Sony since its launch roughly a year ago – certainly a bigger success than even Sony itself was expecting – but the device has, nonetheless, also been on the receiving end of some rather fair criticism. One factor in particular that has invited backlash is its lack of cloud streaming capabilities, something you would assume would be a staple in a device such as this. It turns out, however, that Sony is finally in the process of rolling out that feature- bit by bit.

The company has announced that it has pushed a new system update for the PlayStation Portal that, along with making adjustments related to PlayStation Link and speaker audio volume, also finally adds cloud streaming capabilities, which means players can str…

Five candidates for the Everton job

Yesterday’s editorial turned out to be well-timed, as less than an hour after I wrote that Ronald Koeman should leave Everton, the Toffees sacked the Dutch boss.

The feeling around Merseyside was that the decision was almost inevitable following the recent poor run of results. Everton’s under-23 boss David Unsworth will fill the gap on a temporary basis while the clubs hierarchy decides on who will fill the role on a permanent basis.

The next incumbent has a big job on his hands. Koeman has left the Merseysiders 18th in the Premier League. Here are the five most likely candidates according to the bookies:

The Burnley boss has emerged as the early favourite for the job. Dyche has guided the Clarets to promotion on two occasions and helped establish t…

Pochettino praises versatile Wijnaldum and Hakimi ahead of Lille curtain-raiser

Mauricio Pochettino hailed Georginio Wijnaldum as a complete player ahead of the Trophee des Champions clash against Lille, while also commending Achraf Hakimi s versatility.

Paris Saint-Germain disappointed last season as they finished runners-up in Ligue 1 and were beaten home and away by Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals.

However, the French giants have had a busy transfer window, bringing in Hakimi, Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma as they attempt to reassert their authority.

Speaking ahead of Sunday s final, Pochettino praised the former Liverpool man, who he feels will significantly strengthen their midfield.

We are very pleased to have him here. I think Georginio Wijnaldum can contribute going forward and also de…

Giggs proud of surpassing Maldini

Ryan Giggs has labelled former AC Milan and Italy defender Paolo Maldini a legend after defying critics to succeed for 25 years.

The Welshman broke Maldini s appearance record for playing at a single European club when he made his 903rd appearance for Manchester United against Fulham, but the 38-year-old has been quick to praise the impact that the Italian defender had on football.

Paolo Maldini is a legend. He played at the highest level for 25 years, Giggs told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

I ask myself why a person like Maldini, who has so much experience, still hasn t got an important role in football?

I remember that during Euro 1996, people said that Maldini was old, but yet his career lasted until 2009.

Giggs has been in good form so far th…

Serigo Aguero has admitted that he is happy at Manchester City amid interest from Real Madrid, .

The 27 year old, who is currently on international duty with Argentina at the Copa America in Chile, signed his latest deal at the Etihad Stadium less than a year ago, though the Spanish giants remain keen on securing his services.

The forward moved to Manchester from Madrid in 2011, having spent five years with Atletico where he scored one hundred and one goals in two hundred and thirty-four appearances in all competitions.

His goals-to-game ratio has improved since moving to England, while he has added two Premier League winners’ medals and a League Cup winner’s medal to his collection.

Having scored the winner against Uruguay in the early hours of…

´One of the top coaches in the game´ – Arteta hails new Man Utd interim boss Rangnick

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has called new Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick one of the top coaches ahead of the Gunners trip to Old Trafford on Thursday.

Rangnick was announced on Monday as the man who will take charge of the Red Devils for the remainder of the season.

He will take over from Michael Carrick, who had stepped up temporarily after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer departed.

However, Rangnick is still waiting for a work visa and is set to miss the clash against Arsenal, with Carrick to carry on at the helm for a third game.

The 63-year-old has taken on a number of roles at football clubs in his career, including head coach and director of football, and will step into an advisory role at United when the season concludes.

Arteta spoke …

Alves: Barca should have denied rumours

Dani Alves is disappointed Barcelona did not publicly deny rumours he was set leave the club earlier in the close season.

Several reports suggested the Brazil international was on his way out of Camp Nou, with big-spending clubs Manchester City and Anzhi Makhachkala rumoured to be interested in the attacking fullback.

It s true that there were rumours that I would not be staying at Barca and I was upset that the club did not intervene, Alves said.

However, I am above that sort of thing and if the time comes when the club decide they don t need me, I will just have to accept it.

Alves, who has become one of Barca s key attacking outlets since joining from Sevilla in 2008, said he wanted to continuing making his mark on the club until the time comes for …

Lazio loan Garrido to Norwich

Norwich City have completed the signing of Lazio full-back Javier Garrido on a season-long loan move, subject to international clearance.

The former Manchester City man arrives to provide competition with Marc Tierney on the left of defence after long-serving Adam Drury left the club.

I m absolutely delighted to be bringing in somebody of Javier s quality, Norwich manager Chris Hughton told the club s official website.

It gives us real competition in the squad, and for me an important factor was the fact that he has played in the Premier League before.

He has played in La Liga, Serie A, and the Premier League, so he is a player of real experience.

The Spaniard becomes the fifth new face at Carrow Road of the close-season, following Steven Whi…

Forlan returns home to Uruguay with Penarol

Diego Forlan is to return to Uruguay with Penarol, the club where he started his youth career.

Forlan, whose father Pablo also played for Penarol, started his professional career with Independiente in Argentina, before later establishing himself a feared striker in European football.

A move to Manchester United in 2002 brought honours in the Premier League and FA Cup, although he struggled to hit top form at Old Trafford.

However, he enjoyed prolific spells with La Liga clubs Villarreal and Atletico Madrid, helping the latter win the UEFA Europa League in 2010.

A switch to Inter did not work out, and he joined Internacional in Brazil before spending the last 18 months with Cerezo Osaka in Japan.

Now, Forlan who scored 36 goals in 112 matches f…

City shun Juventus approach for Nasri

that Manchester City are not willing to part company with Samir Nasri amid interest from Italian champions Juventus.

The France international is currently out injured but was featuring regularly for Manual Pellegrini’s side before being sidelined.

Juventus have made firm enquires about the former Arsenal man, with a proposed £10m from the Serie A side mooted though City have no interest in doing business.

Since moving to the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2011, the twenty-eight year old has racked up one hundred and seventy appearances in all competitions, scoring twenty-six goals while he has been part of the squads that won the Premier League title in both 2012 and 2014.

He also played in the League Cup final victory over Sunderland at Wembley …
